July 12th: Cycle number five--so far so good.
|
Monday July 11th, 2005: A few things have happened since my last posting. Leela is now sporting a new prosthetic eye. Everyone who has seen it seems to think that it looks better than the last, which also looked pretty good. A week ago or so I posted a photo of her with the new eye; it's the one with the daylilies in the background. Last week Leela received her fifth cycle of chemotherapy. There was a one-day delay due a mix-up over the appointment. Geetha had to sit through both days this cycle since I was still recovering from a virus that felled me for a few days. So far Leela has been handling this cycle very well. You never know what will happen, but it looks as if this cycle will be another smooth one. If all proceeds according to plan, Leela will receive her sixth and last cycle of chemo on August 4th and 5th. Two to three weeks after that, Leela will get an MRI, and if all looks good, she will then have her catheter removed. Sometime in August we hope to go away for a few days. It will be our only chance to get out-of-town all summer. Then in early September Leela will start school. It is starting to seem like the end is in sight. |
